While I'm not surprised, I'm a bit disappointed as Sophie Raworth has been brilliant doing the show so far this year.

About what you'd expect from the Brexit Bias Corporation.

On the way to making North Korean media look fair and balanced by comparison.

Given that she has to show as much "due impartiality" in her presenting/reporting as any other TV/radio news presenter I really don't get this sort of comment.

Okay, I do. It's - ironically - bias from the person making it.

    Why?

One of her sources what Dominic Cummings why would the Conservative Party be delighted by that?

    Indeed.

"And now on BBC1, there follows a party political broadcast on behalf of the Conservative party, a brand new series presented by Laura Kuenssberg"

Ridiculous comment but hardly surprising given the author

Without getting into all this accusation of bias or not the question is she someone I would want to watch for an hour on a Sunday morning ? and I think the answer to that is no.

Well, let's hope they change the title of the programme, so we don't get all the irrelevant nonsense that creeps into the Twitter hashtag.

Where Laura is following in the footsteps of Andrew Marr is that they are gaining the Sunday political series job just after having been political editor for a few years.

I never got the idea that Laura was a Tory, or pro-Brexit.

Certainly pro Tory, not sure about Brexit. They're all bound to have their own political alliegances but supposed to keep it out of the job. She always used to give May friendly questions, she seems to be enthralled by Johnson. During the last election she used very inaccurate tweets from Tory party sources as news without checking the facts. Maybe she'll be more scrupulous in her set piece interviews, one can only hope. Sophie Raworth showed how it should be done.

She was the reporter who disseminated the lie about a Labour "activist" supposedly punching Matt Hancock during the last election campaign. They were so desperate to get a scoop out there, they didn't pause to ask whether that's really what happened.

Yasmin is so right. The Conservatives have all the money they wont for things and they're friends. But because they're all about not caring for any people except the rich we're never going to get them to do the things other countries are now doing to help people with the rise in the cost of fuel. What we need to do is stop voting in our thousands for the wrong party to get this country back on it's feet. It's never going to happen while we have a party that only cares for the very rich and doesn't care if you eat out of food bank,go hungry, can't heat your home, work but still need to eat from a food bank or have no home and live on the streets. But you can't explain this to most of the people who vote in they're droves for this awful party. And many are saing ah but come the next election they'll be voted out now because of lies and "PartyGate" well I don't think so as many blindely vote for them not really knowing how awful they are as they don't follow the news or politics.

The same mistake that many other journalists (broadcast and newspaper) made - but for some reason everyone else was instantly forgiven whereas Laura got dragged through the mud and her name is still linked to this story years later.

The point is the BBC should hold itself to a higher standard, rather than trigger a race to the the bottom as happened here.

I hope there’s no shortages of tin foil in future as it looks as though you’ll need a lot of hats.

This kind of comment was fairly standard in the politics forum. If you didn’t agree with her then she was a Tory Brexit supporting stooge. She wasn’t of course and just reported what her sources gave her.

The counter argument to that is that if every other news organisation is reporting something and the BBC isn't - because it's still checking the source for accuracy - then the delay in reporting the story will itself be used as evidence of alleged bias.

I've lost count of the times I've seen posters say "...and still nothing on this story from the BBC. I wonder why..."

People will see bias if that's what they're looking for. This particular story, which subsequently turned out to be false, was widely reported by many new sources, but only the BBC got criticised for it.

    Yes indeed

With the removal of the politics thread I thank the lord the LBC radio thread exists as I go there for my comedy fix ..
